The Panama Canal Container Trades - Past, Present, Future

In 2014, the Panama Canal will celebrate its centenary... the waterway project of the century will be completed ... from 2015 onwards, a new set of much larger locks will allow ships of up to 13,000 TEU to transit this strategic artery ... such vessels are then no longer sentenced to the Europe-Far East trade alone ... but where exactly can they go? ... will it affect container trade patterns worldwide? ... will eager existing and new Canal Zone ports and terminals actually become the pivotal hubs of the Americas?
