DynaLiners Daily - European Union-Mercosul agreement
After around twenty years of negotiations, the European Union and Mercosul agreed on the draft text of a free-trade agreement. Some USD 100 billion passes between the two blocs in terms of merchandise trade, this being split virtually fifty/fifty. Part of the agreement will see tariffs on a range of products reduced over time. At the end of 2018, population of the EU approximated 510 million whilst that of Mercosur was around 296 million. The agreement is subject to ratification by various bodies and individual countries.
