DynaLiners Daily - Maersk Line: 0.5% less or more
Søren Skou, CEO of Maersk Line fears that the ongoing trade war between the United States and China could reduce global demand for container shipping by 0.5% this year and next. So far in 2019, the US raised tariffs on certain goods from China by 15% to 25%. Another series of goods will have a 10% import levy as of 1 September 2019, with yet another batch due later in the year. This last could result in global demand dampening by 1%, the Danish carrier said.
